Children’s portraiture can seem like a bit of a boring thing for kids but I’m always looking for ways to make it fun and entertaining for them, as well as to create the perfect images for you as their mum and dad. It’s a universally accepted fact that life is always better with a teddy so we decided to include one of this little girl’s absolute favourites in one section of her portrait photo shoot.
So she got to relax in front of the camera with a friend alongside her to give her a bit of extra confidence and the resulting images really show off her natural smile and character. Then we moved on to other types of pictures while her dog got to relax and watch from the sidelines. We had such fun playing with different ideas and backdrops to create a lovely set of images that captured her in all her natural beauty.
We finished up with one of my new favourite ideas – in her mummy’s wedding dress. It is pretty much exactly what it says – you bring along your wedding dress (and shoes and veil if you fancy it), and your little girl gets to try it on. Obviously we have to apply some clips to keep it in place but the resulting images are truly gorgeous!
