A newborn photography session at my studio is scheduled for between 2 and 3 hours. A high street studio might say they can do it in an hour and if your baby decides to play ball and sleep beautifully from the minute you get there, then they definitely can but you know babies… famous for having diva tendencies! However, it’s a bit of a double edged sword as I’m acutely aware that three hours in a studio a week or so after having a baby doesn’t sound all that appealing. I remember those sleep deprived days very well even though they were quite a lot of years ago now.
So I decided to make my newborn studio a very comfortable place for you to pass the time whilst I work on getting you the photographs that you will love. OK, hands up, I can’t help you with the breast feeding. Try as I might I just come up with a workable solution for that one. Still, I have provided a warm and cosy studio, a super comfy chaise longue to relax (trust me, I have napped on that between sessions on more than one occasion) and snuggly blankets that you are welcome to cuddle up with for the duration of your session. So all of a sudden that two hour session can present an opportunity for a couple of hours of relaxation – how’s that for multitasking?
