I was very happy to be asked to visit the beautiful Nutfield Priory to photograph the wedding of Stacy and Shane, it’s a lovely venue both for the guests and for the photographer.  I had met the happy couple before when I have been the photographer for the father of the bride about 7 years ago and it was lovely to reconnect with everyone again on this happy occasion.

The weather was perfect, just a little light cloud cover to keep everyone cool after the recent heatwave and give the perfect muted light for photography (sunshine is lovely to bathe in but not very good for pictures actually as it makes for very high contrast images and those ‘panda eyes’ if there isn’t enough available shade to be photographed in).  So the weather was in our favour, the venue was stunning as always, the couple were so in love and their friends and family were there to witness and support their wedding with happy hearts and the odd happy tear – a wonderful wedding day.

I started the day with the bride and bridal party getting ready in one of the beautiful large and naturally lit rooms with possibly the more enormous sleigh bed I have ever seen in my life! There was a lot of make up and hair artistry on display and a proper amount of bubbles and giggles during the preparations process and then it was time to move through to the ceremony portion of the day.  Altogether more serious, although very happy of course – with an amazing entrance by the adorable ring bearer (the son of the bride and groom) who leaped into the room with all the confidence in the world and lapped the melting hearts all the way up the aisle!   Nutfield is the most beautiful building and offers a stunning backdrop to the group photography with plenty of picturesque spots for photos of smaller groups and the couple themselves – I really am spoiled for choice whenever I work there.
