Joshua hadn’t been to see me for a little while, almost one year exactly in fact as he came to me at about 7 days old for his newborn photography. So it was lovely to catch up with him again to celebrate his first birthday with a photo shoot and a cake smash.
We had some fun with some of my first birthday props and then brought out the very well iced cake for his cake smash. Now Joshua can already walk (and has been able to since he was 10 months old!) which adds a whole new dimension to a cake smash in that when he wants to proudly display his icing covered self, he can get up, walk around and do it! So I have to say, his poor dad’s lovely white shirt took a bit of punishment as he was rescuing him from various areas of the studio (or rescuing various areas of my studio from him – whichever way you like to look at it) but hopefully the resulting images will make up for it. Lots of laughs and marvellous sticky fun!
Cake smash sessions include the session, use of my first birthday props, and your five favourite digital images to download, print and share as much as you would like. The cost is £95. Due to issues around food allergies, you do need to bring your own cake and I’d definitely recommend bringing a flannel but other than that, the clear up operation is all down to me. Smash and walk away 🙂
Cake Smash & Tub Splash Photo Shoots
A cake smash and tub splash photo shoot is the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate that extra special first birthday. We start with a clean shoot and mum, dad and siblings are welcome to get involved here as well for family pictures if you’d like to. Then it’s time to get out the cake for some smashing fun! After that, it’s time to fill your choice of tub with warm and bubbly water for more great pictures and a good old icing removal clean up. Each session includes your three favourite digital images (chosen from your online gallery, there’s no sales session) and costs £95.
Cake smash and tub splash sessions are also included in my baby photography club – the Joey Club so if you have a little one (under four months) take a look at that to find out more about capturing your first year together.
