This adorable baby girl is Eloise and she came to visit the studio for her newborn photo shoot a couple of weeks back. It can be an unsettling experience for a tiny person to visit a new environment, so luckily she brought a furry friend with her to keep an eye on her while she took a nap – Peter Rabbit!

Initially she was a bit unsettled but we soon found a combination of strategies that made her happy to drift off enough for us to get pictures, and I’m pretty sure that knowing Peter was watching over her was one of those – you never need worry if you have a bunny!  Her mum and dad brought along a very special family blanket for her to be photographed in as well as Peter of course, and I added in some props and accessories from my collection – such as my gorgeous mini princess tiara.

If you have a favourite toy or a special teddy already picked out when your little one arrives, it’s a great idea to bring it along to all of your baby photography club sessions as well as for your newborn photos, so you can see how your baby grows and changes alongside it. I look forward to seeing her as she grows throughout the year for her Joey Club photos, along with Peter of course!

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
