I’m very lucky to have a number of clients who’ve been coming to visit me fairly regularly over the years and this lovely family are one of those.  In fact, they feel like old friends when they come to see me now and this was an extra special visit as there was a brand new family member to meet.

I was thrilled when they told me that they were expecting a new baby, and a little bit more so when they said it was a girl.  Not because I prefer photographing little girls (although there’s no denying that there is a lot more pretty stuff out for girls than there is for boys) but because her big sister in waiting is such a wonderful little girl to photograph.  She loves all things girly and I know that the two of those girls together are going to be a force for the world to reckon with!

Anyway, Eliza came a little early and so we got to meet her a little sooner than planned.  She was a sweet little thing, happy to settle after a good feed and let me gently me move and pose her to create a great set of newborn images.  She was a little more wakeful at the end of the session so we took some time to capture her in my chillout baby hammock and her little hands and feet along with her big sister.  At the end, there was also time for some family portraits – the perfect catch up with old friends and new!

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your five favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  You can choose to have your session in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down (£95) or I can come to your home (£125)
