Little Jasper was a lovely visitor the studio – a sweet little lad who settled well and was happy to be gently moved and posed for his photographs. Oh, and he’s gorgeous too but you can see that for yourself!
His mum and dad had saved off some photos that they liked from my portfolio to give me an idea of the kind of images that they liked. Of course, it’s not possible to recreate a shot exactly but it’s a great idea to bring along some ideas (if you have the time and energy to get them together of course – it’s not obligatory) to let me get a flavour of the style of photography that you love. That way, it’s quick and easy for me to tailor your session to create exactly what you want. Your baby is still the boss of course, I only ever work within their patience and comfort zone and sometimes, even very tiny people have preferences as to the types of poses they like and how long they’re willing to model for.
We talk over things like the colour palettes that you like and the style of photography that appeals to you at the beginning of your session then obviously we can decide between various accessories between as we work through everything. You’re there the whole time to guide your session as much as you’d like to.
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your five favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. You can choose to have your session in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down (£95) or I can come to your home (£125)
