Raina came to visit with her mum and dad for her newborn photo shoot and although she was slow to settle, like a lot of newborns, patience, feeding and persistence paid off and we had her snoozing soon enough and deep enough to capture a set of beautiful images of her.

As she was quite an unsettled little lady at the start of the session, we stuck to the safest and most comfortable options for her and kept her warm and snuggled on my giant beanbag.  There’s still a great deal of options in terms of poses and accessories that we can move through to create variety in your images and it’s a lot easier on her not to be moved between props.  All of my sessions, even if we have a rough plan at the start, are completely baby led.  They are always kept as completely comfortable as they deserve to be and we only work within the poses that they are happy in.  The safety and comfort of this brand new person is always the priority.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
