Kathii and Neil had their wedding ceremony in East Lavant with their reception in The Langstone Hotel in Hayling Island, Hampshire. All sounds pretty traditional right? Yes, that’s what I thought but apart from the personal touches that peppered the day – from the groom’s ‘cold feet’ socks to the pictures of missing wedding guests in the bride’s bouquet and plenty more besides – there were some very unusual wedding guests.
The first clue was that all was not going to be traditional, was when the best man was asked to present the rings and he looked panicked and said that he wasn’t ready and he left the church to fetch them. As the guests looked around in puzzlement, C3P0 and R2D2 entered from the back of the church bearing the rings. Yep, you heard me right – the guys from Star Wars. When you’ve been a wedding photographer for a fair bit more than a decade, I guess you kind of think you have seen it all. Turns out…
They were joined at the hotel by the droids plus a company of four storm troopers who while they were brilliant in posing for photos were also a bit naughty in photo-bombing the group shot! Still, who’s going to argue with them? They’d already arrested the groom and best man.
It was a fun wedding with just so many surprises, but not by any means a novelty wedding. The one thing that shone throughout was how in love the bride and groom were, and what the whole day meant to them and their family and friends. One that I won’t forget in a hurry that’s for sure!
I offer two wedding packages so you can tailor your coverage to what suits you – one from the ceremony through to your wedding breakfast and one that also includes bridal party preparations – and both include a fully edited image gallery on memory stick.
